Walsall Symphony Orchestra

Walsall Symphony Orchestra has a history dating back to the autumn of 1959 when, as the Old Marians’ Orchestra, it was founded by Chad Jackson with former pupils of Queen Mary’s Grammar School in Walsall.

Links with QMGS gradually became more tenuous and, in 1991, it changed its name to Walsall Symphony Orchestra. Over the years it has provided the opportunity for many musicians, both young and old, to share the pleasure of playing in an orchestra.

It now involves instrumental players from all over the Walsall Borough and beyond, of varying ages and occupations, who share a common love of instrumental music.
